The production of zinc-coated steel parts produces considerable quantities of acidic wastewater with a high concentration of metal ions.

Membrane distillation modules by memsys are used for valuable recovery and volume reduction in Shandong Province / China since early 2016.

Task: Concentrate these highly corrosive solutions up to 40% wt.
Value Proposition: Economic reuse of the valuables (e.g. FeCl3) in the liquid,
reduction of transportation cost as additional benefit.

The applied system comprises four modules in parallel operation with a total membrane surface of approx. 200 m².
