memsys and NTU develop novel air-conditioning based on membrane technology. memsys has started a joint project with Prof. Choo Fook Hoong from the Division of Power Engineering at Singapore’s  NTU. The project will focus on a membrane-based absorption Air-conditioning and Dehumidification System using Renewable Energy or Waste Heat.

Project ConocoPhillips, Qatar

Thermal Brine concentration in Qatar

memsys takes part in a research program led by ConocoPhillips' Global Water Sustainability Center (GWSC) and Qatar University to evaluate the utilization of membrane distillation (MD) technology as brine concentrator for effluents from conventional MSF and MED processes. Under the agreement, GWSC will fund the research program, which will also involve collaboration from the local water authorities in Qatar.

This centre is to be set up in Singapore as with the participation of Cambridge University, NTU, NUS, ICES and A*Star. Its named participating private companies are IBM, memsys, Johnson Matthey and Exxon Mobil.
